Eight candidates seek spots on Quincy school board

QUINCY, ILL. -- Eight candidates are vying for spots on the Quincy School Board.

Candidates were required to get their petitions filed by 5 p.m. Wednesday for the April 9 election.

There will be three vacant positions on the school board as current board president Bill Daniels, Steve Krause and Tom Dickerson previously announced that they would not seek reelection.

The eight candidates are on the ballot in the following order: Bobette Cawthon, Richard Jones, Ronnie McKenzie, Jamie Foster, Kenneth Rollie Platt, Richard McNay, Sheldon Bailey and Sayeed Ali.
