Canton, Missouri welcomed what some would call a controversial household name Saturday evening.
You probably know him from the 1990's NBC hit show "Saved by the Bell" as Screech, but he'd rather you call him Dustin Diamond.
For most of his adult life, Diamond's performed comedy routines on stage across the country. Saturday, he performed live at the Lewis Street Playhouse in Canton.
KHQA caught up with him just before the show to see what you can expect when you buy a ticket. Among other things, you may be surprised to know he loves shows like the "Big Bang Theory" and "Dexter" as well as getting in the ring for some wrestling. When he's not on a plane or staying in hotels, Diamond says he's a homebody and likes it that way. When we asked him what he sees for his future, his answer surprised us. Take a look at our one-on-one interview above to hear his answer.
Aside from "Saved by the Bell," Diamond has been on a number of game shows, has made cameo appearances in several films and in 2010, had a supporting role in the sports comedy "Tetherball: The Movie."
What do you think of Diamond's appearance in Canton, Missouri? Have you seen any of his comedy acts? His arrival into the Tri-States caused quite a stir on Facebook. Join in on the conversation here.
