ILLINOIS (AP) -- Harvesting of corn and soybeans in Illinois is almost completed.

The National Agricultural Statistics Service shows that the corn harvest in the state is 98 percent complete and 96 percent of the soybeans are done.

The agency says that the harvest moved quickly because rainfall in the region was nearly non-existent.

Winter wheat planting in the state is already 96 percent complete and so far the crop appears to be in good shape.
