Freak accident injures two in Hannibal

Two children were injured in a freak accident Thursday night in Hannibal.
HANNIBAL, MO. --
Just after 8:30 p.m. three children were playing inside a vehicle parked up a hill in the 900 block of Union street.

One of the kids appears to have knocked the shifter out of park and the vehicle started rolling backwards down the hill.

A 6-year-old boy was injured when he tried to climb out of one of the windows was hit by a nearby sign.

He was airlifted to Blessing Hospital.

A 4-year-old boy was also hurt trying to get out of the car.

He was taken by ambulance to Hannibal Regional Hospital.
