MARION COUNTY, MO. -- A hay bale fire threatened a Northeast Missouri farm Thursday morning.

Palmyra firefighters were called to the scene of a hay bale fire just after 4:30 a.m. Thursday.  When they arrived on the scene they found several hay bales on fire.

Firefighters were concerned with the fire spreading to a nearby barn. Officials say it could have easily spread to area fields due to the widespread drought conditions.

No one was hurt in the fire.
