KAHOKA, MO. -- Clark County officials will dedicate their new courthouse Wednesday afternoon.

The new building was built on the same location where the old one stood before it was demolished.

Total cost of the building project was $4,000,000.

It has just over 26,000 square feet of space under roof and all of the county departments are in the same building.

"To my knowledge, this is the first time in the history of Clark County that we have all the facilities under one roof. And it's just gellin great, everybody is working together and we're real happy everyone is under one roof. And it's so much easier if we have questions or problems we can go see the people, discuss it and take care of it. So it's just really a blessing and a god send," Clark County Commissioner Jerry Neyens said.

A ceremony is planned for 1:30 p.m. in Kahoka to officially open the building.

In 2010, voters passed a half-cent sales tax to help build the new $4 million courthouse.

The former courthouse was built in 1870, but was torn down due to its cramped and deteriorating conditions.
