QUINCY, ILL. -- The Tri-State Minority Chamber of Commerce celebrated a milestone Saturday night.

The One Year Anniversary Gala highlighted the work the chamber did during it's first year in the community.

Throughout that first year, the chamber held workshops, developed community partnerships, and reached out to minority entrepreneurs.

Their goal is to promote minority business ownership by providing information on operating a small business.

"It's been a really great time, it's all positive," said President Crystal Young about the anniversary. "We're just trying to help those who have not known how to get those resources earlier. Feel free to call on the chamber and we would certainly be glad to give some direction regarding small business."

One way the chamber can help, is by providing information on obtaining state and federal contracts for small businesses.
