Macomb community to hold prayer vigil for Sandy Hook victims

MACOMB, ILL. -- Prayer vigils across the Newtown, Conn. community will continue throughout next week after a mass shooting at an elementary school left 27 people dead. You can find continuing coverage on the investigation and victims here.

The impact is being felt here in the Tri-State community. Sunday, the public is invited to a prayer vigil in Macomb.

Mayor Mike Inman said he was contacted Saturday by the local ministerial association looking to organize the event.

The prayer vigil will be held at Chandler Park Sunday, at 3 p.m.
