QUINCY, ILL. -- Time is running out for you to get that state grant for your college education in Illinois. The deadline for the FAFSA Illinois Monetary Awards Program is Friday night.

This is a program awards grants to students who are from Illinois and attend college in Illinois.

If you missed the Friday deadline, you can still receive financial aid.

Melanie Lechtenberg is the director of financial aid at John Wood Community College. She said it is a 30 minute process to file. Lechtenberg said that filing after the deadline would still make you eligible for federal grants.

Even if you missed the deadline you should still fill out your financial aid as soon as you can.

John Wood Community College has a 5 minute tutorial on how to fill out your FAFSA application.
