The Spoon River College Board of Trustees approved a two-year contract agreement with its faculty.
The vote was reached at a special board meeting Wednesday in Canton, Illinois.
The faculty union filed a formal intent to strike notice on January 16.
The deal was reached following a session with a federal mediator.
They ratified their contact January 25 with no disruption in classes.
