We are days away from the 10th year anniversary of the September 11th attacks and people all over the Tri-States plan to reflect on the time that has passed and where we are as Americans.

Ten years is a long time and while the youth of America may not remember the attacks, those of us who were there or who saw media coverage on that fateful day ... we will never forget where we were. We will never forget the coming together of a nation.

Across the Tri-States, groups and communities are planning to come together on September 11, 2011 and pay tribute to those who lost their lives.

The following is a list of special events in our area:

-  The "National Moment of Remembrance" will be held at noon and local churches are being asked to ring their bells at noon.
-  The city of Quincy will be holding a very special 10th Anniversary 9-11 Memorial Service and World Trade Center Artifact Dedication on Sunday, September 11 at 3 p.m. at Quincy City Hall, 730 Maine St.
-  Dallas City American Legion will host a parade and ceremony.
-  Western Illinois Museum will hold a tribute to first responders and servicemen and women at 1 p.m. on September 11 at Chandler Park in Macomb, Ill., 221 East Washington Street.

If you have an event to add to the list, please email KHQA at news7@khqa.com. You can also upload your event to our Community Calendar here for all to see on our website.
