Children's Mental Health Awareness Day event
The following news release was received from Chaddock:
Quincy, Ill. - Join Chaddock staff and friends from throughout the nation as they celebrate Children's Mental Health Awareness Day on Thursday, May 7, 2009 with Remember Our Kids at Noon.
At precisely noon on Thursday, May 7 - wherever you are, whatever you are doing - we ask you to join in a moment of silence to think about the young people you know who might be facing some challenges because of their experiences.
Sending a warm thought or a mental hug goes a long way in the healing process, as we each wish for a safe and supportive environment for these children.
There is no other safer, supportive image than that of an adult rocking a child, so please get ROK-N with Chaddock.
Chaddock staff and friends will be meeting on the steps of Osborne (on the Chaddock campus) in their ROK-N shirts at 11:30 a.m. for a photo. Additionally, a prayer service will be held in the Chaddock Chapel at noon for anyone who can join us. We request that attendees arrive at the Chapel by 11:50 a.m.
About Chaddock: Chaddock was founded as a ministry of the United Methodist Church in 1853 and has a legacy of more than 150 years serving children. Today, the Chaddock team includes in excess of 180 highly trained employees who serve thousands of children and families every year through community, educational and residential services.
Licensed, accredited and nationally respected, Chaddock is on the cutting edge of trauma-focused residential treatment, demonstrating excellent results for children who have experienced severe abuse, neglect or other trauma in their early years of development. Many of the children in this program are adopted by loving families, but the unresolved issues from their early childhood prevent them from forming loving, nurturing relationships.
