ST. LOUIS, MO. (AP) -- The Federal Aviation Administration will investigate after a small private plane was forced to make a belly landing at Lambert Airport in St. Louis.

None of the six people on board were hurt in the landing Thursday night. KMOX Radio reports the plane was bound for an airport in Cahokia, Ill., near St. Louis.

But shortly after 7 p.m., Lambert received a distress call - the plane had its landing gear stuck in the up position.

The plane was diverted to Lambert.

The plane slid to a safe landing, and everyone on board was  getting out by the time emergency crews got to them.

The Beechcraft King Air-200 is registered out of Louisiana.
