Identification kits vital in an emergency

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources cares about the safety of kids.
PERRY, MO. --
That's why the agency came to Perry Christian Academy Tuesday morning to fingerprint some of the students.

The Missouri DNR has been fingerprinting kids for several years now.

Besides fingerprinting the kids were also taught strategies for dealing with strangers.

Park Ranger Doug Buie says these kinds of kits are very important because in an emergency law enforcement can use the fingerprints and other information about the child to start searching for them right away.

Besides finger prints the kit contains the child's name, height, weight, age and other vital information.

There's also a place for your kids photo.

You can contact your local law enforcement agency to get a similar child identification kit for your child.
