It generated more than $25 million in sales of more than 27,000 energy efficient appliances statewide.
The program allowed customers to upgrade to Energy Star Appliances while receiving the rebate.
"It was almost like the Black Friday feeling this morning when this kicked off. A lot of that I think is due to the fact that this time it's a one day sale. Last time it was advertised that it could run for 3 days and a lot of people lost out last time," said Lowes Sales Manager Jake Brewer.
The first phase of the Energy Star Rebate Program generated more than $75 million in sales and 1.3 trilliion BTU's in lifetime energy savings, that's the equivalent of taking 1,712 passenger vehicles off the road.
