HANNIBAL, MO. -- The city of Hannibal has officially welcomed its newest Convention and Tourism Director. Gail Bryant started her new job July 1, 2011.
She replaced former director Beau Hicks. Before coming to Hannibal, Bryant served as the director for the City of Lebanon's Tourism Department.
While it's a bit early to discuss major plans for the future, Bryant says she's very excited to work with the city's best tourism spots.
"Even just this short weekend, the community was very hospitable and went above and beyond what anyone would expect for someone being new to the community, so they've been very gracious.I'm very lucky and feel very fortunate to have this opportunity," said Bryant.
Bryant's first day landed her right in the middle of Hannibal's National Tom Sawyer Days. She says the city couldn't be happier with the turnout. The overall crowds were comparable to the last few years.
