We all struggle with the unknown ... especially when it comes to the weather.

With an official snowfall measurement of 28.8 inches back in February of last year, its no surprise that everyone is waiting for some reassuring words. Snowmageddon left the Tri-States buried and desperate for the Spring.

We decided to take a look at all the winter weather predictions coming out now and see where our region stands.

AccuWeather.com has the harshest words for us. Their Chief Long-Range Meteorologist Joe Bastardi is predicting a "wintry battle zone but no snowmageddon." He says that cities like Chicago, Detroit and Cleveland are predicted to have above-normal snowfall this coming winter.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has stated that the Central U.S. has equal chances of above-near-or below normal temperatures and precipitation. We may even be in store for a wetter-than-normal outlook.

The Farmers' Almanac believes that the mainland U.S. will be divided down the middle with the western states facing a milder-than-normal winter and the eastern states facing a much colder, harsher winter. What does that mean for us? Well, they say near-normal winter temps are anticipated.

KHQA's Landon Mitchell doesn't feel like the Midwest will take winter’s worst wrath – even though it’s quite possible that the Tri-State area is in for more snow, ice, and cold than normal. The highest risk for the most dangerous weather this winter may be for freezing rain and sleet in Oklahoma and southern Missouri and for snow and ice in New England. Click here to read Landon's early look at what winter may bring.

Take our poll below and make sure and leave your comments below or on our Facebook page here. We want to know your thoughts on the coming winter!
