TRI-STATE AREA -- Will the weather cooperate with your Tri-State-area travel plans for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend? It sure seems that way.

Our daily and nightly temperatures will be running close to average and easily above freezing for Tuesday and Wednesday and well above average for Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday. Saturday will cool back to average and Sunday will be chillier than normal.

You can check out connecttristates.com/weather for the latest, specific temperature forecast.

This week will feature two notable precipitation makers. The first storm will bring periods of rain showers and breezy conditions from late Monday night through Tuesday evening. Then, Wednesday, Wednesday night, Thanksgiving Day, and Thursday night will be mainly clear!

The second storm will throw increasing cloud cover at us on Friday morning, but many of us will escape the actual rain for the early-morning shopathon. This hopefully will allow you to get the goodies you’re after. Chances for rain become much greater the later we get into Friday. We’ll then have rain on Friday night and into Saturday. Saturday night gets more interesting if the storm lingers. This is when temperatures will fall to the 30s – and there could be some snow as we’re finishing up with the back end of the storm.

Sunday, Sunday night, and Monday will be cool yet mainly dry.

I think travel looks really good for this week. My biggest concern is Saturday night and possibly early Sunday morning. It may be helpful to plan your travel around those times if possible.
