HANNIBAL, MO. -- The owners of Grand View Nursery in Hannibal say they've sold their business and land to a Quincy company and it will now be know as Selby Implement.

Joe & Sandy Howald have owned Grand View Nursery for the past 26 years and today he told KHQA that he closed on the transaction late last week.

He says the John Deere part of the company was sold to Sydenstrickers and that all of the customers who purchased John Deere equipment from Grand View can get their items serviced at Sydenstrickers.

Selby's second location should be up and open for business by the middle of the Spring in 2012.

Grand View employees have been offered jobs with either Selby's or with Sydenstrickers.

Howald says he appreciates all of the people who made his business a success over the last quarter of a century.

Howald's brother Vince will still be involved with the Hannibal location and said he looks forward to the new operation as it will offer, motorcycles, A-T-V's and a full line of garden tractors.
