Hannibal residents didn't let a little cold stop them from getting their valentine.

The first "Catch Cupid" 5K was held Saturday at Riverview Park.

The run/walk was sponsored by Hannibal's Park and Recreation Department.

All proceeds went to Kids in Motion, a program for at-risk teens and pre-teens that teaches them the value of work and community.

Kids in motion members cheered on the participants during the 5-K, and one even volunteered to be cupid.

Organizers were more than happy with the event's turn out.

"We're just incredibly pleased with the turnout," said Amy Vaughn, Kids in Motion program director. "We're up to 160 participants and for a first time event that's just incredible."

Each woman that participated in the 5-K received a rose at the finish line...catching a valentine after all.
