HANNIBAL, MO. -- Hannibal will be teeming with Democrats this weekend at the 41st annual Demo Days.

The party gets underway at 12 p.m. Friday at the Hannibal Inn.

Teamsters Union leader Jim Kabell is the featured speaker at the banquet Saturday night, which is the headlining event of the weekend. Kabell was recently elected a trustee on the General Executive Board of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, which has 1.4 million members.

Friday's events includes a tasting of Missouri wines and cheese, hosted by State Rep. Paul Quinn.  It runs from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m., followed by a fish fry. Friday's line-up is mainly social, with bands slated to play and hospitality rooms open for the guests.

On Saturday, the Democrats get down to business, with caucus training and election strategy meetings. A brunch at 10 a.m. Saturday features US Senator Claire McCaskill as keynote speaker. The event wraps up with the Saturday banquet at 7 p.m., followed by a dance until midnight.
