EWING, MO. -- For those of you who have a green thumb, but don't like putting in all the work, the students at Highland High School have taken care of that problem for you.
Once again, the agricultural department at the school is hosting a bedding plant and vegetable sale.
This is the fourth year for the event that has quickly become a community favorite.
The green house behind the school is the home, for several months, to a wide variety of vegetables, herbs and flowers.
The students started growing the plants in January but teacher Angie Hamlin says the students learn a lot more than just where flowers and vegetables come from.
"We do some business curriculum in here when we figure prices and our sales. We talk a little bit about design when we talk about putting baskets together. We've got all of our plant science information in there too. Plus we get to have a variety of vegetables that aren't always available to us at the store," she says.
The sale runs on Friday and Saturday for the next 2 weekends.
Friday, April 27 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 28 from 8 a.m. to noon and Friday, May 4 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, May 5 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The school will also be holding an E-Waste recycling day on that Saturday as well.
