MCDONOUGH COUNTY, ILL. -- A Colchester man is dead Thursday morning after a two car crash Wednesday night.

Illinois State Police say the accident happened when 22-year-old Jeremy Barclay of Colchester ran a stop sign at the intersection of County Road 1050 and 1300 North in Scotland Township in McDonough County.

That's when he drove into the passenger side of a car driven by 30-year-old Jeffrey Tones of Colchester.  The passenger in that car, 34-year-old Gregory P. Bunnell of Colchester, died at the scene.

Barclay and the driver of the car were taken to the McDonough District Hospital with injuries.

Barclay faces charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal transportation of alcohol by a driver, disobeying a stop sign and driving with no insurance.

The crash is still under investigation.
