QUINCY, ILL. -- The Washington Theatre Commission in conjunction with the City of Quincy is looking at the possibility of having new heating and air conditioning units installed for the second floor office space at the theatre.
Right now, the only tenants in the building is an accounting firm and work out facility.
The idea is to see how much it would cost to install the new units and in turn that could provide an opportunity to lease that office space to generate more revenue to continue the theatre renovations.
But right now, it's just a proposal.
"If they can afford it. They want to put in air conditioning and heat, so that they can turn around and lease it and generate more revenue towards the ultimate goal of having leased revenues going towards renovation covering the costs of doing projects within the theatre," Quincy City Planner Chuck Bevelheimer said.
The proposals for the new heating and air conditioning systems are due to Quincy City Hall by 11 a.m. on July 12th.
