An Adams County teen is dead after an ATV crash Friday night.
The Adams County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded to a vehicle/ATV accident at N. 1400th Ave. just before 6 p.m. A pick up truck, driven by 24-year-old Andrew Mowen, of Liberty, was traveling eastbound when it collided with an ATV headed westbound. Dakota Cantrell, an 18-year-old from Fowler, was the driver of the ATV. Reports show Cantrell was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Both Mowen and Cantrell were taken to Blessing Hospital. Cantrell was later pronounced dead from injuries he sustained in the crash.
Deputies cited Mowen for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
An investigation into the crash continues.
