One person is dead Friday after a one-car crash near Quincy Regional Airport.

Adams County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Fred Kientzle said a car northbound on County Road 1600 E lost control, struck a utility pole, rolled over and landed in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

The car caught on fire, and it appears that the occupant couldn't escape the vehicle, Kientzle said.

The name of the car's occupant is not known as of noon.

Firefighters, deputies, the Adams County Coroner and emergency medical officials reported to the crash scene.

We will bring you more details as they are released.
