HANNIBAL, MO. -- The Marion County Ambulance Service will be home to a new emergency helicopter base.

This according to the Hannibal Courier Post, a helicopter service called "Survival Flight" will base a helicopter at the ambulance district headquarters on U.S. 61 North in Hannibal, Mo.

Here's video of one of their helicopters already in service in Mid Missouri.

The ambulance district will provide a landing pad...and Survival Flight will add a building to serve as living quarters for its crew of three.

Ambulance officials say it's a life-saving addition to the services they already provide.
