CLAYTON, ILL. -- A drag race on the Clayton-Kellerville blacktop sent two people to the hospital Saturday afternoon.

The Adams County Sheriff's Department reports Zachary King and Morgan Knorr were drag racing northbound on E. 2950th St. when they met a vehicle on a hill. The vehicle driven by King lost control, rolled multiple times and ejected King from the car.

King was taken to Blessing Hospital via Air Evac with moderate injuries. His passenger was taken by ambulance to Blessing with minor injuries.

Both King and Knorr were cited for reckless driving and street/drag racing and released with a notice to appear in court on September 24.
