QUINCY, ILL. -- Reading is important for kids of all ages and The Book Stop in Quincy is making it easier for kids to get their hands on some books.

Last year, the shop started Reading for Books.

Teachers all across the area got coupons for The Book Stop.

If a child completes their teacher set required reading minutes, the teacher fills out the coupon and gives it back to the student.

Each coupon is good for one free book.

The Book Stop owner Doug Alexander says, "Our grandsons Sam and Henry go to Liberty. They're very into reading, obviously, they've grown up in the store. A couple of years ago, they were rewarded with a free pizza for reading. Being the inventive type I said, 'hey we can do this for book.' So, here we are."

The class that turns in the most coupons throughout the year will win a gift certificate for 50 dollars worth of books for their classroom.
