Reward for Illini West going to state

HANCOCK COUNTY, ILLINOIS -- A deal is a deal, and one high school principal made good on that deal Wednesday.

Several weeks ago, Illini West principal Ray Driskell agreed to shave his head if the football team made it to the Illinois state championship game.

On Saturday, the football team inked that deal, so Driskell's full head of hair was shaved off, shaving cream and all.

The entire student body was there to watch, and Driskell  entrusted his head to the football players to get the job done.

This is the first time Illini West has headed to state since the district consolidated two years ago.

Kick-off for the state championship game is Friday at 4:00 p.m. at Memorial Stadium in Champaign.
