The weak economy is taking its toll on another Tri-State business.

According to Gardner Denver's Web site, officials have announced plans to restructure its business in 2009.

The Company began aggressive cost reduction activities months ago in response to the slowing global economy.

But as a result of the continued deterioration and market conditions, the Company plans further cost reduction actions, including a reduction of its salaried workforce globally, implementing a hiring freeze and strict controls on spending.

The Company has notified 9 percent of its global salaried employees that their positions would be eliminated within the next nine months.

The majority of affected employees expected to leave the organization by the second quarter of 2009.
