Deer harvest numbers in Missouri are way down from past years.
Hunters checked a little more than 15 thousand deer during the antlerless firearms season that ended Sunday.
That's down 23 percent from last year.
Missouri Department of Conservation officials say the high wind and extreme cold took a heavy toll on this year's season numbers.
Macon and Pike Counties topped the state with number of deer harvested.
