BURLINGTON, IOWA -- Burlington officials have released the name of the woman who died following a fire at her home on the city's north side.

Cyd Richards was found inside her home as firefighters battled the blaze. She was taken to Great River

Medical Center in West Burlington, where she died Monday morning.

Witnesses say firefighters performed CPR before Richards was taken from the scene by ambulance.

Firefighters arrived on the scene minutes after the fire was reported at about 10 p.m. on Sunday. They were unable to control the blaze for several hours and continued to fight the fire into early Monday morning.

An autopsy was scheduled Tuesday morning, but the results have not yet been released.

KHQA's Rajah Maples talked with a spokesperson with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigations Tuesday afternoon.

She told us it could be a week before investigators are able to discover what started the blaze.
