Hannibal, MO-  The Hannibal Parks and Recreation Department says it has some extra money, and wants *you* to decide what to do with it.

The department just paid off improvements for the Aquatic center, and wants to re-allocate that extra money somewhere else.  So, the parks and recreation department is asking the public what projects, or improvements they want to see in the community.

Director of Parks and Recreation Chris Atkinson expects to hear all kinds of comments.  But we wondered if investing in another project is the right thing to do.

"That's our concern. We're funded by a 1/2 cent sales tax, which obviously is impacted by the economy, but that's one of the factors we're going to have to take in consideration here," said Atkinson.

Atkinson says, his department will make sure it can keep up with payments, before committing to a project.  Hannibal residents should get a survey with their utility bill this month.  You can drop it off as you make your payments.  Results should be ready by March.
