Louisiana, Mo. -  Despite the tough economy, one Tri-State company has something to celebrate.

The Whittle Shortline Railroad company, based in Louisiana, Missouri, is moving to a larger location in New London, Missouri.

And it's all thanks to a popular toy from generations ago.

Whittle is expanding its business to include wooden puzzles.

A british puzzle designer wanted an American company to make his designs and chose Whittle to be that company.

As a part of that agreement, Whittle will have its puzzles distributed in Target stores across the country.

The company is also making puzzles for UPS, Coca Cola, and the U.S. Postal Service.

In light of that good news, the company decided it needed a bigger facility.

So Whittle bought the old Cerf Brothers building at 410 S. College in New London.

The new location is much bigger, about 55,000 square feet, and will allow the company to provide better service to its customers.

The larger building will also allow the company to have larger equipment and to process and ship their products much faster.

The British designer is so pleased with his agreement with the company, he is pulling a major piece of design equipment from China and sending it to Whittle's new building.

The move will also be good for the area economy because the company expects to add an additional 30 people to its workforce.
