DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) - Dubuque police say they responded to a domestic disturbance and found a man doused in lighter fluid, threatening to set himself on fire. The incident on Saturday began when police were called to a house and found Darnell E. Smith creating a disturbance. The 28-year-old, covered in lighter fluid, was arrested and did not set himself on fire. Police say Smith was upset with someone else inside the house, but did not specify who. A 10-year-old was found inside the residence, as was an unspecified amount of marijuana.

Police charged Smith with child endangerment and possession of marijuana.

He was first taken to Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque. Police did not release his condition.
