HANNIBAL, Missouri- Some people in Hannibal woke up to flashing alarm clocks Friday morning.

That's because there was a major power outage just after 1.30 in the morning.

The outage affected areas west of 61 and Clinic road to the hospital.

Parts of the southside of time were also hit.

Hannibal BPW confirms that there was problem at it's Indian Mounds substation.

The Hannibal Police report that it appeared that three transformers popped in succession around town.

That left about 24 hundred people without power for about an hour.

BPW crews did manage to re-route power in time for people to get their day started.
