HANNIBAL, MO -- The Hannibal School Board received a preview of a $32 million budget proposal.
The district should get more than $1 million dollars in federal stimulus money.
It'll be used to boost test scores, lower the dropout rate and improve technology.
The budget won't be finalized until July.
Meanwhile, the board also must wait until summer to get a better idea of how to pay for a new grade school to replace Mark Twain Elementary.
The district hopes to fund the construction without a tax increase.
But doing so may mean holding off on seeking voter approval of a bond issue.
