Give input on comprehensive plan

People in Hannibal have the chance to voice their concern of the city's comprehensive plan.

There's a public hearing Tuesday night at city hall at 6:15 to look at the land use portion of the comprehensive plan.

Over the past several months, the city has held public information workshops to gather input and ideas from citizens.

Now a preliminary draft is now done, and once again the city wants your thoughts.

"The whole goal of a comprehensive plan is to create a set of eyeglasses. When you put them on you can see the community in a full build out mode. That way when we make a development, it's not an isolated decision. It may be an open field, but we can see it knowing what types of future uses we're going to prescribe around it," says Hannibal City Manager Jeff LaGarce.

After the public hearing, the plan will be presented to the city council where members will vote on it.
