COLUMBIA, MO. (AP) -- A 24-year-old Columbia man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison in connection with the August 2008 killing of a 29-year-old man.

Clyde Hyler III will serve consecutive sentences of 14 years for voluntary manslaughter and six years for felony stealing in the death of Antonio Flores-Ramirez. Hyler was sentenced late Monday.

He was originally charged with second-degree murder until police determined he did not actually shoot Hyler.

The suspected gunman, 32-year-old Antoine Harris, will be sentenced Dec. 14 after pleading guilty to second-degree murder and assault.

The two reportedly tried to sell the victim alfalfa they were passing off as marijuana.

Flores-Ramirez's two young sons told the court Monday how their father's death affected their lives.
