QUINCY, ILL. -- Not many things get you in the Christmas spirit more than decorating a Christmas tree.

John Wood Community College and Habitat for Humanity made sure one Quincy family had a tree to decorate this holiday season.

This is the tenth year the college has donated a Christmas tree to a family in need.

Vice President of Finance and Business Services at John Wood purchases an artificial tree.

The tree is decorated by staff and displayed in the college until the school closes for the holiday.

The tree is then delivered to a family who has recently moved into a Habitat for Humanity home.

KHQA was on hand as this Christmas tree was delivered to the Messan family Monday, December 21st.

How nice is this going to make your Christmas?

"Oh very nice, new house, we appreciate that. We like our house and we enjoy the Christmas tree too, from today. We just want to say thank you to the Quincy community for all the help they do for us, we appreciate that and we say God bless them," said Nathalie Messan

"It's really interesting, it takes a very small thing from each individual staff member and we end up with a very beautiful tree at the end. It's something everybody can participate in where ever they are on their staff," said Alan Steigelman, JWCC V.P. of Finance and Business Services.

Some employees of John Wood also got the family a few small gifts for Christmas.
