AMES, IOWA (AP) -- Federal officials say Iowa State University will receive a $125,000 grant for agricultural research.

The money will help pay for a project called "Integrating Soil Water Flowpaths and the Nitrogen Cycle."

The competitive grant is available through the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Institute of Food and Agriculture.

It provides research funding to address problems of regional and national importance.
