HANNIBAL, MO. -- Hannibal school administrators will pound the pavement in the next three weeks to tout a $13 million bond issue.
The district already has received letters of support and community endorsements.
Two public forums, visits to civic organizations and a media blitz are yet to come.
The bond issue is on the April 6 ballot and requires a 57 percent majority for passage.
Approval would clear the way for construction of a new Mark Twain Elementary, a new Early Childhood Center and upgrades at other district facilities.
Five meetings are planned, and public forums are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. March 25 at Mark Twain and 6:30 p.m. March 29 at the Hannibal High cafeteria.
