QUINCY, ILL. -- The Historic Quincy Business District is happy to announce the first-ever Ecumenical Easter Egg Hunt in downtown Quincy.  The event, sponsored by several historic churches in the downtown area, will take place in Washington Park on April 3, 2010.

This event is free to the public and will feature hunts for several ages.  Youngsters will be divided into six categories:  Toddlers (1-2), Preschool (3-4), Kindergarten, first grade, second grade, third grade, fourth grade and fifth grade.  Each child will receive at least one prize, have a chance to meet the Easter Bunny, and enjoy a great morning in Washington Park.  There will be several special prizes given away by downtown businesses and churches.

"We are very excited about this new event," said HQBD Executive Director Travis Brown.  "We have some wonderful churches that call the district their home, and we are thrilled to have an event such such as this where we can partner together with them."  The organizer of this year's event is the Rev. Ivan E. Greuter of Central Baptist Church.  "I'm excited to see the historic churches come together to sponsor this important event for children," said Pastor Ivan.  "Easter weekend is an extra-special time, and we want people in Quincy to be part of it!"
