ORIGINAL STORY: Thursday, April 22, 2010

KHQA has learned more about President Barack Obama's possible visit to the Tri-States next week.

Preliminary plans show that the President will visit Quincy, Fort Madison, Mount Pleasant, Ottumwa and Macon during a two-day swing on Tuesday and Wednesday.  KHQA received a tentative schedule on Wednesday morning, which is posted below.  When contacted by phone on Thursday afternoon, the White House press office said no more information was expected to be released on Thursday.

White House advance personnel and Secret Service have been in touch with some of these communities as recently as Thursday afternoon, but city leaders in both Quincy and Fort Madison have released no definite plans from the White House.  All indications are that more information, including event locations, will be released on Friday.

Our sister station, KTVO in Kirksville, also has heard tentative plans for Mount Pleasant, Ottumwa and Macon.  The latest reports indicate the President will hold some type of town hall meeting or rally at Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa late Tuesday afternoon, April 27, and is expected to tour the ethanol manufacturing plant outside of Macon on Wednesday.
