MARION COUNTY, MO. -- The following news release was issued by the Marion County, Mo. Sheriff's office:
On May 25, 2010 Judge John J. Jackson issued a Class A misdemeanor warrant for possession of a controlled substance against Dennis Russell Powell of Hannibal, Missouri. Powell’s bond was set at $5,000.00 with no restrictions.
The warrant was issued as a direct result of an investigation conducted by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and in cooperation with the NEMO Drug Task Force.
The criminal investigation began when Powell was arrested on separate charges by an outside law enforcement agency on May 14, 2010. Upon processing Powell at the Marion County Jail, a detention officer located marijuana upon Powell’s person.
Powell faces up to one year within county jail and is set to be arraigned on May 25, 2010 at the Marion County Courthouse located in Palmyra, Missouri.
