SPRINGFIELD, ILL. (AP) -- Authorities have cited 32 Illinois businesses for liquor law violations after checks conducted by undercover teams.
The teams visit liquor stores, restaurants and bars to make sure they're complying with state laws banning the sale of alcohol to customers younger than 21.
Last month, the Illinois Liquor Control Commission did the checks in Edgar, Effingham, Knox, Vermilion and Washington counties.
Among the businesses cited for violations were nine in Effingham, three in Danville and one in Galesburg.
Most businesses - 65 percent of those visited last month - refused to serve underage customers.
