NAUVOO, ILL. -- It was a perfect day outside for the people of Nauvoo to enjoy their first block party.  A band from Springfield came to play for the Dog Days of Summer.  People enjoyed sangria slushies and a hot dog bar. The day was a good way to say good-bye to summer and welcome fall. Co-owner Brenda Logan says she's happy with the day.

"This is the first time we've tried this and it's been really exciting and a lot of work getting ready for it but i think we've had a really good turnout this year and it's just been really great. We're getting ready for Grape Festival and the harvest so we thought we'd have a block party," said Baxter Vinyards co-owner Brenda Logan.

Grape festival will be Labor Day weekend at the Nauvoo State Park.
