Hannibal house fire under investigation

HANNIBAL, MO. -- UPDATE: September 14 at  4:28 p.m.

We have made several phone calls this afternoon to get more details, however, none are available at this time.

Investigators from the Hannibal Fire Department and Missouri State Fire Marshall's office were called in to investigate.

UPDATE: September 14 at  8:55 a.m.

Investigators are still looking into the cause of a late night fire in Hannibal Monday.

The Hannibal firefighters were called to a home at 1704 Chestnut Street at 10:31p.m.

When they arrived they found smoke coming from the home, with flames coming from the living space and the attic. 

The home, owned by Gail Stovall, was unoccupied at the time of the fire. 

Investigators from the Hannibal Fire Department and Missouri State Fire Marshall's office have been called in to investigate.

One firefighter was transported to Hannibal Regional Hospital with injuries.

A late night Tuesday fire is under investigation in Hannibal.

Details are sketchy at this time.

What we can tell you is that last night around 10:30 p.m., the Hannibal fire department responded to a house fire on Chestnut street.

The house is a single family home.

At last check the fire marshall had been called in to determine the cause of the blaze.
