QUINCY, ILL. -- There's another e-mail scam going around.

This one looks pretty official, and potentially frightening.

One of our employees here at the station got an FBI notice in his inbox.

It says the Federal Bureau of Investigation has discovered that Bank of America has received more than 10 million dollars in your name coming from the United Kingdom.

The notice goes on to say you must prove this money is not related to terrorism or illegal drugs.

You're told to contact the FBI immediately and provide information from your bank to prove the money is clean.

If you don't do that within three working days of getting the e-mail, you could faces criminal charges.

And the letter is signed by the FBI Director.

We contacted the regional FBI office.

As we suspected, this email is a scam, apparently designed to scare you into providing your financial information.

If you get this email, just ignore it.

If the FBI is really looking for you, it knows how to find you.
